The highlight of my weekend was hearing my 18 year old's report on her first retreat through Inter Varsity Christian Fellowship. She traveled from Long Island by railway to NYC where she and others rode a bus to a lake and conference grounds. With lots of homework to do for her college classes, her words to me were necessarily sparce. "Great teaching. Best conference I've ever been to. I like the people a lot. The lake was beautiful. I REALLY like Inter Varsity."
That thrills my heart. That organization helped me tremendously during my college years and I eventually became a staffworker with IVCF for three years.
So . . . if any of you have college kids, you can find out if there's a local chapter by checking their website: http://www.intervarsity.org/
Overseas, it's called IFES - International Fellowship of Evangelical Students.
I'm a proud and happy mother.
